Eureka! We're ready to roll...

Adult Learners Week starts today, so how appropriate that we should begin the first Eureka! photography project next Tuesday. It has been a bit of a white-knuckle ride at times, but through a combination of peoples' generosity, the support of The Base and some happy accidents, we are ready to go.

Talking of 'happy accidents': yesterday afternoon I was sitting discussing the project with John, the photographer who has offered his time and and skills to this project. We were spending ages mulling over final costings, and wondering how best to display the photos for the final exhibition. Suddenly, I saw a friend of mine, Andi Sapey, who just happens to be a professional photographer of some considerable standing. I called him over to our table, and he asked what we were up to. When he saw that we were fussing over the choice of frames he said something to the effect of:

"Forget frames. Go frameless. Let the focus be on the photograph, not the display"

Well, Eureka! moment or what!!

The word, I think, is serendipity; "an aptitude for making desirable discoveries by accident"

Thanks Andi!
