Inspiration at Plantation Gardens

Tomorrow, we will be welcoming photography students studying with Norfolk Community Learning Services at Wensum Lodge to join us on a new creative collaboration. We will be joined by Roger Connah, Chair of the Plantation Gardens trustees, who will be explaining our 'brief' - namely, to take photographs that the Gardens can use on their website to promote this enchanting site.

For Rodgers...

We are so saddened to learn about the death of Eureka member, Rodgers. He was a lovely man with a ready smile and a gentle way about him. A graduate of the University of Zimbabwe and a former teacher, twists of fate steered him to Norwich and then into Eureka. Our lives are all the better for having known him and shared moments finding wonder as we wandered together. He left us saying that, "he was going away."

Ana Maria Pacheco

Earlier today I was fortunate enough to attend the private view of an exhibition of Ana Maria Pacheco's sculpture that is being shown across four sites within Norwich. Here is a little montage of images of one of her pieces, that I've made...

Country & Eastern/ South Asian Decorative Arts & Crafts Collection Trust - Ernie's Photos

Eureka Wellbeing Photography members recently visited the Country & Eastern shop on Bethel Street, where the South Asian Decorative Arts & Crafts Collection (SADACC) is held. Not only are there a profusion of colours and shapes and textures to inspire the photographer's eye therein; the building itself is a remarkable structure, being the site of a former Victorian skating rink.

I think that all of the Eureka members were inspired by the visit - I certainly was! Here are a couple of photographs by Ernie which we'd like to share with you here...

Michael Explores

Some more recent photos from Michael. My personal favourite is the first one: bold and brave framing of a rusting metal object set against a backdrop of brick. Love it!
